The Governor has appointed State Senator Billy Ray to the Gwinnett Superior Court.  Senator Ray has resigned effective January 9, 2002, and a special election has been called for Ray's State Senate District 48.  The special election will be held Tuesday, February 12 2002.

The Association of Fulton County Homeowners endorses David Shafer for the special election.  David Shafer is a fiscal conservative who will fight wasteful spending.  He has endorsed the Moody Plan which will protect Fulton County taxpayers from unnecessary property tax increases.

Senate District 48 includes parts of Gwinnett, Forsyth and Fulton Counties.  If you live in the Precincts AP01C, AP05, AP09, NC04, NC20, NC22, or NC23 of Fulton County, you are urged to vote in the special election on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 for David Shafer.
