Some supporters of Congressman John Linder say they see former State GOP Executive Director David Shafer’s special-election victory for the State Senate as a good sign Linder will defeat fellow incumbent Bob Barr in the Republican primary for Congress. Barr supported runner-up candidate Bobby Reese, while Linder endorsed Shafer who won the four-candidate contest with a 55-percent landslide.
