A New Georgia
I am deeply grateful to the voters of
the old Senate District 48 who elected me their State Senator on
February 12, 2002 to succeed now Judge Billy Ray, and to the
voters of the new Senate District 48 who re-elected me without
opposition in the 2002 and 2004 general elections. I do my very
best every day to represent them under the Gold Dome.
It has been a honor to serve with our Republican Governor, Sonny
Perdue, and with my Republican colleagues in the now Majority
Caucus of the State Senate. I was privileged to serve as one of
the Governor's administration floor leaders and as Chairman of the
Senate Science and Technology Committee. I look forward to my new
assignment as Chairman of the Senate Regulated Industries and
Public Utilities Committee.
Although I am unopposed for reelection in 2006, my name will be on
the ballot. If you live in Senate District 48, I earnestly ask for
your vote.
I hope you will feel free to contact me with your questions and
suggestions. The better I understand your concerns, the more
effective I will be as your State Senator. Thank you for taking
the time to visit my website.
